Families Relocating to South Haven Public Schools' District

We are excited to welcome you into our Ram Family! Once you have moved to the area and have received your new address, we encourage you to follow the link below to enroll your student at South Haven Public Schools.

WAY South Haven Application

Please note the following items will also be required for enrollment:

  • Student's Birth Certificate (must be submitted in person)

  • Student's Immunization Records (student must be up-to-date or have a waiver signed by the Health Department)

  • Parent's Driver's License or State ID

  • Proof of Residency for the Student's Parent or Guardian (ex: property tax bill, mortgage/lease documents, utility/medical bill, or other official mail).

    • Don't have proof of residency? If you reside with a relative or friend, you may submit a notarized letter (or affidavit of residency) stating that you live with such person.

  • FOR KINDERGARTEN ONLY! The State of Michigan mandates that a vision screening be completed before the child's first day of Kindergarten. Screening statements from the local health department, a licensed eye care practitioner or medical physician are acceptable.

If applicable:

  • Custody or Guardianship Documentation (in the event of custody issues)

  • Kindergarten Wavier

  • Schools of Choice Application

Transportation:

  • If your child needs transportation, you must turn in the Transportation Form or arrange for a bus stop by calling the Transportation Department at (269) 637-0570

Families Residing Outside of South Haven (Schools of Choice)

Thank you for choosing South Haven Public Schools for your child! We are a schools of choice district, meaning we welcome non-resident students under Section 105 and 105c (Schools of Choice) during our open enrollment windows. Annually, our school of choice open window will open once in the summer and once towards the start of the calendar year.

At this time, South Haven Public Schools is CLOSED for enrollment of non-resident students under Section 105 and 105c (Schools of Choice).

The district publishes open enrollment periods on the district webpage (www.shps.org), in the South Haven Tribune, and the Flashes. Notification may also be given via radio on COSY-FM 103.7.

Schools of Choice applications can be found at the link below and must be  submitted to our Enrollment Specialist, Jessica Hodge, at the Administration Building (554 Green Street) or via email at enrollment@shps.org during an open enrollment period. WAY South Haven applicants must also fill out the WAY South Haven Application.
